A VISUAL MEDITATION

“I read up on Alan Watts and Charles Bukowski on the Thursday. I thought about their thoughts a lot. The towering idea I wanted to physicalise in a visual was: ‘You don’t need to try with the universe.  It is you and you are it’. I called Ben on the Friday. He was up for making a film. I imagined movement from the body that would have the feeling of agency, absent from personal control. Cyclical movement one could get lost in. We made the film on the Saturday. I edited it yesterday. I’m not sure what ‘it’ is to be honest. It brings me a bit of peace though. I give this to you today and I’m all the better for it.” - Jamie Flatters
